Ai Ogura Eager for Comeback as MotoGP Revives at Jerez, a Favorite Circuit

Ai Ogura is brimming with enthusiasm as he gears up for the European leg of the MotoGP World Championship, commencing this weekend at the historic Jerez Circuit. With past successes at this track, including a notable Moto2 victory in 2022, the Trackhouse rookie is poised to further his development in the premier class. The Spanish Grand Prix, marking the fifth round of the championship, offers Ogura a cherished opportunity to race on a circuit where he’s tasted triumph before.

This 24-year-old Japanese rider from Kiyose, Saitama, has fond memories of Jerez, which include a Moto2 victory and podium finishes in Moto3. “Finally, we are coming to Europe. Jerez is one of my favorite circuits in Spain, and in the past years, I have been riding very well at this track,” Ogura remarked, reflecting on his anticipation.

Ogura is keen to adapt swiftly to the different conditions after numerous kilometers away from Europe, stating, “I think it’s quite nice – nice to us. For sure, it will be different conditions after so many kilometers outside of Europe and it will be quite interesting to see where we stand.” His pragmatic outlook is evident as he focuses on maintaining his learning curve.

Approaching the race weekend with a strategy of steady growth, Ogura commented, “It will be another experience, I’ll do my maximum and see what happens. I just can’t wait to start the weekend at another circuit – we build up, little by little and so I’m looking forward to starting here.” His commitment to progression is clear as he aims to maximize every moment on the track.

Post-race, the Trackhouse team will stay in Jerez for an in-season test on April 28, presenting a rare chance to assess enhancements and bolster the Aprilia RS-GP25 prototypes’ performance. As another chapter of the MotoGP unfolds, anticipation and potential build with Ai Ogura’s ambitious journey on the horizon.
