Brad Keselowski Faces Tough 2025 Cup Series Start with RFK Racing’s Missteps and Crew Chief’s Candid Remarks

RFK Racing driver and co-owner Brad Keselowski faced another setback in the 2025 Cup Series at Darlington Raceway, concluding the race in 33rd place and two laps behind the leaders. This daunting result highlights a season riddled with challenges for Keselowski, as his crew chief, Jeremy Bullins, candidly discussed their ongoing struggles.

Starting in the 20th position, Keselowski’s No. 6 Ford Mustang demonstrated promising speed during the long runs. He rapidly moved into the top 10 and secured a P6 finish in Stage 1. However, the race took a difficult turn in Stage 2, when a green flag pit cycle left him with a loose wheel, causing a spin on lap 135.

Despite returning to the pits to address the issue, Keselowski found himself trailing the leaders by several laps. His car’s pace allowed him to make up some ground, yet he finished the race in a disappointing 33rd place. In his post-race comments to @Toby_Christie, crew chief Bullins acknowledged the severity of their performance issues in the 2025 season.

Now positioned 31st in the drivers’ standings, Keselowski faces a daunting 204-point gap to the championship leader, William Byron. The 2012 NCS champion has started the season with unprecedented difficulty, failing to secure any top-10 or top-5 finishes across eight races. His average starting position is 24.375, with an average finishing position of 26.125.

Keselowski openly admits the No. 6 team has struggled to execute races as planned. Despite the setbacks, he remains hopeful that these challenges are merely early-season hurdles and anticipates a turnaround as they work through this period of poor fortunes.

In comments made to the media after Saturday’s qualifying session, Keselowski expressed his team’s frustration in remarks via SpeedwayDigest. Looking ahead, he is determined to push forward and improve the team’s performance.

Keselowski will return to the track on Sunday, April 13, as the Cup Series continues at Bristol Motor Speedway for the Food City 500, hoping to find the success that has eluded him thus far.
