Brad Keselowski has publicly encouraged Hollywood star Tom Cruise and Hendrick Motorsports vice chairman Jeff Gordon to bring the long-speculated sequel to the 1990 film Days of Thunder to life. The call came amidst recent discussions about a possible follow-up to the original movie, which remains a nostalgic favorite among NASCAR enthusiasts.
The original film starred Tom Cruise as Cole Trickle, a young USAC racer, alongside notable actors such as Robert Duvall, Nicole Kidman, Randy Quaid, and Cary Elwes. Its continued popularity within the racing community includes support from Keselowski, who is currently active in NASCAR.
Journalist Adam Stern recently tweeted that Cruise is reportedly involved in talks regarding the sequel, adding momentum to fan hopes.
“NASCAR is not commenting on Cruise’s remarks, but a person familiar with the matter said that the idea of making the sequel happen is indeed gaining traction,” Stern wrote in his post.
Keselowski shared Stern’s update with enthusiasm, captioning it,
“We are all pulling for this!”

Brad Keselowski’s New Spotter for the Coca-Cola 600
For this year’s Coca-Cola 600, Brad Keselowski will be guided by a new spotter. Todd Brewer will temporarily replace Keselowski’s regular spotter, TJ Majors, who is sidelined for approximately one month due to a medical procedure.
Majors detailed his situation during a recent episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast:
“I’ve got a little procedure coming up this week, and I’ll be out for probably about a month. Hopefully, I’ll be back for good after that and not have to worry about it anymore.”
Keselowski is not the only driver undergoing crew adjustments ahead of the 66th Coca-Cola 600. Christopher Bell of Joe Gibbs Racing will have Matt Philpott stepping in as crew chief, replacing Stevie Reeves for this event.
