Brent Crews, a rising talent in stock car racing, announced the creation of Brent Crews Motorsports on Friday, marking his entry as a team owner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The new team will make its debut on August 8 at Watkins Glen International, a track where Crews already has success. The launch signals an expansion for Crews within the series, combining his passion for driving with the challenges of team management.
Details on Crews’ Part-Time Racing and Team Formation
Currently a 17-year-old part-time driver in the No. 1 truck for TRICON Garage, Crews will field the new No. 70 Toyota for Brent Crews Motorsports in select Truck Series events. The team is sponsored by Pristine Auction, a partner with whom Crews has a longtime relationship dating back to his early racing career. The idea to run at Watkins Glen evolved from a desire to compete at the venue without being limited by his current race schedule with TRICON Garage.
From Early Inspiration to Team Ownership
Crews grew up inspired by stories of grassroots racers who built cars from spare parts, sparking his own ambitions in racing. He recounted,
“I grew up going to dinner on race weekends with guys like Nick Tucker and Brian Keselowski listening to stories about building race cars and engines out of spare parts and barely getting to the track,”
capturing the perseverance that influences his approach to racing ownership. The decision to buy a truck for Watkins Glen was met with little caution from his circle, helping this project snowball into a full team effort. In his own words,

“When we started talking about me buying a truck to run Watkins Glen, no one was willing to tell me it was a bad idea and it just kind of snowballed from there. I sold all my micro sprints to raise some of the money and here we are.”
Operations and Leadership Structure at Brent Crews Motorsports
The team will be based temporarily at the Nitro Motorsports Trans-Am headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina, while Crews remains its primary driver. The formation of the team allows him to supplement his driving commitments with TRICON Garage, adding valuable track time and experience. Alongside Crews, fellow drivers Jesse Love, Connor Zilisch, and Jack Baldwin serve on the executive team, bringing combined expertise to steer the organization forward.
Early Career Milestones Boost Confidence for New Team
Crews has already demonstrated his ability to win at multiple levels in 2025, starting with a victory in the Stock Non-Wing Division at the Tulsa Shootout in January. He followed that success by winning in his ARCA Menards Series debut at Phoenix Raceway in March, an impressive accomplishment for any emerging driver. He later captured a win in the ARCA Menards Series East at Rockingham Speedway and topped it off by winning again at the ARCA event held at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. More recently, he showed strong performance with an eighth-place finish in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Lime Rock Park in June.
Motivation and Future Goals for the Team
Expressing enthusiasm for this new chapter, Crews reflected on his unconventional path with his stepfather Matt, saying,
“My stepdad Matt and I have always done things outside the box. We went National Midget racing when I was 12 and became the youngest Midget winner in history with Pristine Auction on the side of the car, so I’m super pumped to have them back on board.”
He emphasized how important it was not to miss the opportunity to race at Watkins Glen, adding,
“I don’t really know where this is going to go, but with all the buzz around road course guys right now, it didn’t seem right to miss Watkins Glen. I love the track. I have a win there. I don’t know what to expect from our team, but I will give it everything I’ve got. Watching on TV was not an option.”
Brent Crews Motorsports Preparing for Debut Race
