Chase Elliott shared his thoughts after an exhilarating finish at the Kansas Speedway, where everything aligned perfectly for him. He credited a crucial push through turns one and two, sparked by the performance of the No. 6 car, which helped him maintain momentum. Elliott also noted that having fresher tires than his competitors contributed to the intense ending in the Hollywood Casino 400 NASCAR Cup Series race.
“I don’t know, man. Everything worked out perfect for me. Had a great push through one and two. That kind of all started with the 6. Big run off of two. Seas kind of parted and just was able to keep my momentum up,”
Elliott said. “That was really it.”
He expressed pride in his team’s effort throughout the weekend, regardless of the win, appreciating their solid qualifying and overall performance. Elliott emphasized the rarity of victories in the sport, underscoring the importance of valuing each success.
“We’ll certainly enjoy this, man. This is pretty cool. Just never take this stuff for granted because they’re hard to come by. Learned that the hard way. Always enjoy it. Always appreciate it,”
he added.
Strategic Moment Locked in Chase Elliott’s Mind During Final Laps
Discussing the closing moments of the race, Elliott described the critical decision to hold his ground against competitor Kyle Larson in the No. 11 car. He explained he was committed to the move and wasn’t planning to ease up, even as they approached the final corners of the track during the green-and-white checkered finish.
“I wasn’t going to lift, so I didn’t know what was going to happen. I figured at the end of the day, it was what it was at that point. We were both wide open corner exit. Wherever I ended up, I ended up. At that point, we were all committed,”
Elliott said.
He called winning on such a restart “pretty neat,” highlighting the drama and intensity of the race’s finale.
Appreciation for Teamwork and Valuable Partnerships
Elliott took the opportunity to thank his sponsors and team members who contributed to the strong performance. Reflecting on a decade-long collaboration, he expressed gratitude toward KBB for their continuous support, as well as Chevrolet, Hendrick Motorsports, and his crew chief, affectionately referred to as “boss.”

“Thanks to everybody at KBB. What a great partner. Been on board for this is our tenth year together, which is pretty cool. Chevrolet, everybody, Hendrick Motorsports. Boss, thanks, buddy. Appreciate it. Glad to be bringing one home,”
he remarked.
