He began racing at the age of 13, guided by short track racer Bubba Gale and his son, former KHI development driver Cale Gale. Jones attended Lake Norman High School in Mooresville, North Carolina, where he graduated before fully committing to his racing career.
Jones raced full-time in 2011 in the pro truck divisions at Lanier Raceplex and Gresham Motorsports Park, winning track points championships at both venues. His early exposure to competitive racing laid the foundation for his future in motorsports.
