He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. TBA Ram 1500 for Kaulig Racing. He previously went by his nickname J. J. Haley until he switched to his first name in 2016 to avoid confusion with fellow competitor J. J. Yeley. Haley owns Darkhorse Racecars, a dirt late model and dirt modified chassis manufacturer.
