Lawless Alan was born in Van Nuys, California, and raised in a family with a strong connection to motorsports. Path to NASCAR
Alan began his formal racing career in 2018, competing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series with his family team, Dasher Lawless Racing. Alan launched his career in 2018 with Dasher Lawless Racing in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series, competing on short tracks across the country. In 2019, he joined Bill McAnally Racing for a part-time schedule in the ARCA Menards Series West, gaining valuable seat time in a competitive environment. The team planned a full season together in 2020, though the campaign was shortened as Alan stepped away from racing after the first four events.
Despite the abbreviated 2020 season, the experience with Bill McAnally Racing helped Alan sharpen his skills on larger tracks. The lessons learned during this period prepared him for his next chapter in NASCAR’s national series.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Breakthrough (2021–2024)
Alan made his Truck Series debut in 2021 with Reaume Brothers Racing at the Daytona Road Course in the No. 34 truck. He added three more races that season with Reaume Brothers at Nashville, Pocono, and Watkins Glen, while also running four events with Niece Motorsports. On January 5, 2025, it was announced that Alan would drive the No. 20 Toyota full-time for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series.
