He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 45 Chevrolet Camaro SS for Alpha Prime Racing, and part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Young’s Motorsports. Mason Massey was born on January 24, 1997, in Douglasville, Georgia. Growing up in the southeastern United States, he was surrounded by a deep short-track racing culture that has produced many of NASCAR’s modern stars. In 2023, Massey was scheduled to run the full Truck Series schedule for Reaume Brothers Racing in the No. 33 Ford F-150, but he departed the team seven races into the season. On February 12, 2024, it was announced that Massey would return to a full-time Truck Series effort in 2024, driving the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado for Young’s Motorsports. However, he parted ways with the team after the race at Richmond Raceway, ending his stint in the trucks.
Xfinity Series Journey (2020–2025)
On January 28, 2020, it was announced that Massey would drive the No. 99 for B. J. McLeod Motorsports for a portion of the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, with his first race scheduled at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. After that season ended, he returned to a familiar track to win the dirt crate late model feature at Senoia Raceway’s Fall Nationals.
