New Zealand’s endurance specialist Earl Bamber is set to lead Johor Motorsports Racing’s (JMR) campaign at the 2026 Meguiar’s Bathurst 12 Hour, marking Chevrolet Corvette’s first-ever appearance at the legendary Mount Panorama endurance event. This Bathurst race also represents Bamber’s inaugural outing with JMR and his debut with the team on this challenging Australian circuit. The Bathurst 12 Hour, running from February 13–15, will kick off Australia’s motorsport calendar and serve as the opening round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
JMR’s Strong Pro-Lineup with Corvette Racing Drivers
JMR has put together an impressive all-professional driver lineup featuring Bamber alongside Corvette Racing teammates Alexander Sims and Nicky Catsburg. This trio will compete in a full Pro entry, piloting the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, a car proven in GT World Challenge Asia and the Suzuka 1000km, where JMR has previously achieved race victories and podium finishes.
Bamber’s Endurance Expertise and Excitement for Bathurst
At 35 years old, Bamber arrives with a decorated background that includes overall wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015 and 2017, as well as a recent Nürburgring 24 Hour triumph in 2023. He expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with his Corvette teammates and competing at one of the world’s most respected endurance races.
“I’m really looking forward to returning to Bathurst and getting back in the Corvette with Nicky and Alex. I had really great times with them at IMSA in 2024, and I’m excited to work with them again. I know a lot of the JMR guys as well, and they’re putting out fast cars with the Corvettes. Hopes are high. I can’t wait to get back to one of the greatest races in the world.”
