Franco Morbidelli is aiming for a strong Aragon performance as he heads to MotorLand Aragón this weekend with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. The Italian rider, currently fourth in the championship standings with 98 points, looks to build on his resilience shown at Silverstone, where he narrowly missed the podium despite a tough crash during the opening race start.
Facing Difficult Track Conditions at MotorLand Aragón
Morbidelli recognizes the unique challenges posed by the Aragon circuit, especially due to its low grip asphalt, which makes it a demanding venue for riders.
“We come to a circuit with a unique surroundings and characteristics, where the asphalt is a bit tricky, there is no grip, so it will be difficult,”
he said. Nevertheless, he remains hopeful about his chances, citing past successes on this track as a source of confidence.
“We’re confident we can do well at MotorLand Aragón, where I’ve been able to get great results and win in the past,”
Morbidelli added.
Strong Track Record Bolsters Confidence
Morbidelli’s experience at Aragon is significant, having secured victories there in both MotoGP in 2020 and Moto2 in 2017. This strong history at the circuit provides him with an edge as he attempts to maintain competitive form this season. With lessons learned from Silverstone, he aims to enhance his performance and adapt strategies to maximize speed and consistency.
“There are things we need to understand from the Silverstone weekend to be able to be faster at Aragón,”
he explained.
Determined to Stay Among Front-Runners
Morbidelli’s target is to remain a strong contender for podium finishes as the season progresses. With the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team performing well behind the scenes, he is confident in his preparedness for the weekend’s challenges.
“Our goal is to continue to fight for top positions, with the team we are doing a great job and we are ready to confirm,”
he remarked with determination.
Coming into Aragon with focused preparations and a solid performance history, Franco Morbidelli is positioned as one of the frontrunners to watch this race weekend. His ability to manage the tricky circuit conditions and keep improving after recent setbacks will be crucial for his ambitions to climb higher in the MotoGP standings.
