Jack Miller Praises Yamaha’s Clear, Modern MotoGP Testing Strategy Driving New Performance Gains

Jack Miller has praised Yamaha’s fresh and structured approach to MotoGP testing, which emphasizes clarity and thoroughness to drive performance improvements. The Australian rider emphasized the importance of Yamaha’s new testing framework, developed after the team reinforced its setup by adding test rider Augusto Fernández. This shift aims to maximize the benefits of Yamaha’s development concessions by ensuring precise communication and comprehensive evaluation across various conditions.

Yamaha’s traditional testing faced challenges, as Miller explained, often because earlier feedback lacked clarity despite favorable track conditions during Monday sessions.

“Generally track conditions on a Monday test are phenomenal and the bike’s working fantastic,”

Miller noted, highlighting how previous tests didn’t always provide the most accurate insights due to limited variation. However, with Fernández and other test riders now covering diverse environments—such as Valencia’s circuit during the weekend and weekdays—the process has become more methodical and modern.

“What they’re doing now with Augusto and the other test riders, in sort of virgin territory like Valencia on the weekend, and during the week, and so on, they’re kind of covering all the conditions, and trying to make the thing work the best in all conditions,”

Miller said, underlining Yamaha’s commitment to adapting the bike comprehensively for racing demands.

This renewed testing approach suggests Yamaha is taking a measured and strategic path, which could enhance their competitiveness in the coming MotoGP seasons. By focusing on clear feedback and versatile testing scenarios, Jack Miller sees real potential for sustained performance gains, indicating positive momentum for the team’s future development efforts.
