The Pramac satellite team officially showcased their updated colors and gear at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, a renowned music academy located near Siena’s famous Piazza del Campo in Italy. This event marked the debut of Yamaha’s new V4 engine, which replaces their former inline engine design as part of a major technical overhaul.
Jack Miller MotoGP V4 technology is central to the team’s renewed ambitions for the upcoming MotoGP season, aiming to reverse last year’s disappointing results. Miller, a Townsville native, finished 17th in the 2025 standings while Pramac ended the season as the lowest-ranked team. Yamaha also went through a winless year, extending their drought to three seasons.
Miller’s Continuation with Pramac and Optimism for the New Bike
After moving to Pramac from KTM in 2024, the 30-year-old rider is now entering his second season with the team, expressing confidence in the consistency of the crew and the promising outlook with Yamaha’s new V4 engine. Yamaha had accelerated development by introducing a prototype V4 engine in select wildcard races last year, preparing for a full rollout in 2026.
Reflecting on the transition, Miller said,
“Kicking off a new season with the same crew feels good.”
He added,
“There‘s a lot to be said for continuity in this paddock and coming back into the garage knowing the people, the work ethic and the direction makes a big difference. Last year was a proper learning year for me with Yamaha. We had some strong moments, worked through a few tough ones but ultimately built a solid base together. I genuinely enjoyed the challenge of adapting and figuring things out as the season went on.”
The anticipation for this season is high, with Miller stating,
“Now with the V4 as our race bike for the season, it feels like a fresh chapter. It‘s an exciting project to be part of and there‘s a real sense of belief behind it.”
He also expressed his pride in remaining with the team, saying,

“I‘m proud to be continuing with Prima Pramac Yamaha and keen to see where we can take this thing.”
Team Strengthened by New Talent and Strategic Changes
This year, Pramac welcomes Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, a three-time World Superbike Champion and the first Turkish rider to compete in MotoGP. His arrival adds fresh energy and challenges as the team continues adjusting to Yamaha’s recent technical upgrades after switching from Ducati last season.
Gino Borsoi, Pramac’s team director, underlined the significance of this season for the squad, especially given Yamaha’s bold move in their engine design. He noted,
“The second year of our partnership with Yamaha is extremely important, especially as it coincides with a major shift in their technical philosophy.”
Borsoi emphasized Yamaha’s full support in adapting to the new bike, calling the 2026 season
“a fresh start in many ways.”
He added,
“While we welcome back Jack Miller, the new bike and the arrival of Toprak Razgatlıoğlu bring new challenges and a natural learning curve for everyone involved – an exciting phase where adaptability will be key.”
Regarding the rider lineup, Borsoi praised both racers, stating,
“We strongly believe in our rider line-up. Jack‘s experience, including his familiarity with V-engine bikes, will be invaluable in development, while Toprak will be given the time he needs to learn a new bike, new tyres and a new championship.”
He also noted,
“His talent is exceptional and we know he can surprise us from the very beginning.”
Upcoming Testing and Expectations for the Season Ahead
Razgatlıoğlu will participate in a shakedown test at Sepang from January 29 to 31 to acclimate to MotoGP machinery, while Miller is scheduled to take part in the first full pre-season test from February 3 to 5. These tests will be crucial for gathering data on the new V4 bike and refining performance before the competitive races begin.
The introduction of Yamaha’s V4 marks a pivotal moment for Pramac, aiming to enhance their standing within the MotoGP championship. With experienced riders and fresh talent working alongside a reimagined machine, the team is positioned for a season defined by adaptation and renewed hope.
