Joan Mir Aims for Breakthrough Performance at Aragon GP with Improved Honda Bike

Joan Mir will represent the Honda HRC Castrol Team alone at the Aragon GP, the eighth round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship, after teammate Luca Marini remains sidelined due to injuries from his recent testing crash in Japan. Mir is focused on delivering a strong result at MotorLand Aragón, a track where he has previously enjoyed notable success.

Mir Reflects on Recent Races and Recovery of Teammate

Mir expressed his support for Luca Marini and emphasized the work still required for Honda to reach consistent top performance.

“First of all, I want to wish Luca all the best in his recovery,”

Mir said. Reflecting on the Silverstone race, he added,

“In Silverstone we saw that there are still a few areas to work on to be able to consistently show our performance. It was good to get more race kilometres and some points, but we need to do more in Aragon.”

Strong History at MotorLand Aragón Inspires Confidence

The Spaniard has a solid record at the Aragon circuit, with multiple podium finishes and frequent points-scoring runs. Mir believes the upgraded Honda bike offers greater potential this year.

“It’s a track I have gone well at in the past and we can see that the bike is at a much better level this year, so I am hopeful of taking another step,”

he said, expressing optimism for the weekend ahead.

Testing and Development Remain Key After Race

Mir faces a demanding race weekend not only as the lone factory Honda rider but also because of plans for post-race testing on Monday. This session will be crucial for verifying improvements made by Honda’s Test Team.

“The test on Monday will also be helpful for us to double check some things that the Test Team has been working on,”

Mir explained.

Outlook for Mir and Honda at Aragon GP

With the experience of past success at Aragon and a more competitive motorcycle, Joan Mir is poised to make significant progress this weekend. His cautious optimism reflects a clear strategy to capitalize on the improved bike and solidify Honda’s competitiveness as the MotoGP season progresses.
