Kyle Busch remains active in the Kyle Busch NASCAR Truck Series by competing in five races annually, even after selling his Kyle Busch Motorsports team to Spire Motorsports following the 2023 season. This year, Busch made his fifth and final start in the 2025 Truck Series schedule at Watkins Glen International, driving the No. 07 Chevrolet for the third time, with previous appearances in the No. 7 Chevrolet.
At the start of the season, Spire Motorsports fielded multiple full-time trucks, including the No. 7 and No. 07, driven by various racers, as well as the No. 71 and No. 77 Chevrolets piloted full-time by Rajah Caruth and Andres Perez de Lara. However, following the Watkins Glen race, Spire cut ties with Perez de Lara, who has since joined Niece Motorsports for the duration of 2025.
Corey LaJoie’s Role Shift and No. 07 Truck Suspension
Originally, Corey LaJoie, who took the wheel of the No. 07 truck at Michigan International Speedway in June, was set to replace Busch at Richmond Raceway and continue through the playoffs in the same truck. Instead, LaJoie will compete in the season‘s final eight races driving the No. 77 Chevrolet. Consequently, Spire Motorsports has elected to sideline the No. 07 truck completely for the remainder of the season, transferring its owner points to the No. 77 truck ahead of LaJoie’s return.
Andres Perez de Lara, despite being the reigning ARCA Menards Series champion, experienced a challenging season with Spire, recording no finishes higher than seventh place in 17 starts and only one additional top 10 finish. His departure marks a notable change for the team as they adjust their lineup and truck entries.
