Kyle Keller Earns First ARCA Menards Series West Win at Tri-City Speedway

Kyle Keller made history with his first career ARCA Menards Series West victory at Tri-City Speedway, overcoming late-race drama to claim the checkered flag. What looked like a routine win for polesitter Jake Bollman changed dramatically in the final laps after a caution altered the race’s outcome. Keller, who had been a steady presence inside the top three all night, seized the moment on the last restart to secure a breakthrough win.

Key Highlights

  • Kyle Keller wins his first ARCA Menards Series West race at Tri-City Speedway.
  • Jake Bollman led much of the race but suffered late-race damage after contact with a lapped car.
  • Greg Biffle finished third, with Robbie Kennealy and Trevor Huddleston rounding out the top five.
  • Bollman and Biffle traded the lead early in a spirited battle, with multiple cautions influencing race dynamics.
  • The series takes a three-week break before returning to Portland International Raceway on August 29.

A Race Shaped by Late Drama

The race started with a fierce battle for the lead between Greg Biffle and polesitter Jake Bollman. The two ran side by side on the opening lap before Bollman took command on the second lap. He led the opening 10 laps until the first caution flew after contact between Eric Johnson Jr. and Kyle Keller.

The second restart intensified the fight up front. Biffle used the outside lane to edge past Bollman after four laps of side-by-side racing, even making slight contact in the process. Biffle extended his lead over the field, which had spread out in mostly single-file running. Meanwhile, Kyle Keller and Trevor Huddleston swapped positions several times further back.

Caution flags continued to impact the race. Jonathan Reaume spun past the halfway mark while battling tie rod issues. Despite this, Biffle held the lead on the restart, with Keller and Bollman fighting for second. Keller eventually moved past Bollman, and the front three drivers maintained their order until the race’s midway break.

Bollman’s Return to the Lead and Final Trouble

After the break, Biffle stayed out front for 10 laps but was reeled in by Bollman, who regained the lead with 60 laps remaining. By the 100-lap mark, Bollman held a commanding lead over the field.

For the next 40 laps, Bollman controlled the pace, but lapped traffic created problems. Inside the final 10 laps, Bollman and Reaume tangled in turn 1, resulting in Reaume spinning and a caution flag. Bollman’s car sustained right-front damage in the incident, hampering his pace for the final restart.

Keller took advantage of the damaged Bollman on the restart, pulling a strong move from the outside lane to seize the lead. From there, Keller held off the field to claim his first series win, a moment he dedicated to his team.

Finishing Order and What’s Next

Jake Bollman recovered to finish second despite the late-race damage, while Greg Biffle crossed third after a solid night. Robbie Kennealy and Trevor Huddleston completed the top five, with Huddleston spinning just before the finish. Tanner Reif, Eric Johnson Jr., Todd Souza, Tyler Brown, and Blake Lothian rounded out the top 10 finishers.

The ARCA Menards Series West will now take a three-week hiatus before resuming action at Portland International Raceway on Friday, August 29. That race will be broadcast exclusively on FloRacing starting at 7 p.m. ET.
