Marco Bezzecchi has spoken about the difficult environment in the factory Aprilia MotoGP team, largely caused by the uncertainty surrounding his injured teammate Jorge Martin’s future. Martin has announced plans to activate a contractual clause to leave Aprilia and secure a new ride for the 2026 season, while ongoing injuries have prevented him from competing in any grand prix for the team so far.
Addressing the situation, Bezzecchi told TNT Sports at Aragon,
“I have to be honest with you – it’s, of course, a difficult situation for the whole team,”
—Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP rider
He added that although the circumstances are hard to handle collectively, they have little personal impact on him, stating,
“This doesn’t affect me a lot. I would like the mood to continue to be the same as it was. But regarding myself? I have no comment. It is not my business.”
—Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP rider
Turning Challenges into Success at Silverstone
Despite the ongoing tension due to Martin’s uncertain position, Bezzecchi managed to transform difficulties into a milestone by giving Aprilia its first victory and podium finish of the season at Silverstone. This success marked a significant moment both personally for Bezzecchi and for the team.
Reflecting on that achievement, Bezzecchi shared,
“It is significant for me. I don’t want to be rude – it’s important for everyone – but for me it was incredible because I was missing this feeling for a long time,”
—Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP rider
He emphasized the effort he put in despite challenges, saying,
“I really gave my all, even if it was tough for me. I didn’t want to show any setbacks. I wanted to give strength to the people working for us. This was the turning point for the result at Silverstone.”
—Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP rider
Preparation for Future Races Remains a Priority
Bezzecchi is aware that the team must continue building momentum and preparing for difficult periods ahead as Aprilia works toward stronger performance levels.
He explained,
“We know that we will face other tough times. We are in a process, building performance,”
—Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP rider
Adding,
“We will work, even more than at Silverstone, to confirm ourselves and use this momentum to arrive at our target as quickly as we can.”
—Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP rider
At Aragon, Bezzecchi’s hopes of continuing his podium form were dashed when he qualified 20th, yet he managed to recover to eighth place in both races. He also recorded the second-fastest time during the official Monday test session.
Meanwhile, Jorge Martin’s return to racing is still uncertain, though he remains hopeful to participate in a test session before the MotoGP summer break.
