Marcus Armstrong Returns to Meyer Shank Racing for 2026 IndyCar Season with High Hopes

Meyer Shank Racing confirmed on August 18 that Marcus Armstrong will continue driving their No. 66 car for the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season. This announcement highlights the team‘s ongoing confidence in Armstrong as they prepare for another competitive year.

Armstrong expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming season, saying,

“I’m very pleased and grateful to be back with Meyer Shank Racing and my crew for 2026. The professionalism and attention to detail is a benchmark throughout the field and we have certainly improved with time together, which has been great. We’ll look to build on our momentum and work hard to climb the points standings.”

His return follows a promising 2025 campaign with the team after two years at Chip Ganassi Racing.

Progress During 2025 Season and Future Prospects

Since joining Meyer Shank Racing in 2025, Armstrong has demonstrated steady development, securing two top-five finishes and ten top-10 results. Armstrong’s podium finish at Iowa Speedway matched his previous best performance with Chip Ganassi Racing, a third-place at Detroit in 2024, showcasing his ability to compete among the leaders.

Mike Shank, co-owner of Meyer Shank Racing, praised Armstrong’s growth this season:

“We’re thrilled to have Marcus back for 2026. He’s really grown a lot this season and we’re seeing that in his results as the season has gone on. His performance this year has shown that he has all the tools to fight at the front. We’re excited to continue building on this progress together.”

The duration of Armstrong’s contract extension was not disclosed, but both driver and team appear focused on maintaining and improving their competitive edge as the IndyCar season advances toward the playoffs.
