Maverick Viñales Aims Strong Comeback at Aragon After Silverstone Setback

After a challenging race weekend at Silverstone, Maverick Viñales is turning his focus to the upcoming MotorLand Aragon Grand Prix, aiming to demonstrate clear progress with his Red Bull KTM Tech3 RC16. The Spanish rider had shown promising performances earlier in the season at Doha, Jerez, and Le Mans, but encountered several difficulties in the UK that prevented him from reaching Q2.

Lessons Learned from Silverstone’s Challenges

Viñales openly acknowledged the difficulties faced during the Silverstone event, emphasizing the importance of identifying weaknesses in tricky riding conditions. He described how the weekend highlighted specific areas needing improvement in their setup, which will be addressed ahead of the Aragon race and test sessions.

“Silverstone was for sure not our best weekend of the season. We had several issues all weekend, and we also understood some of our weaknesses in tricky conditions, which for us is very important, because it means that we have pointed out an area to work on to improve our package, just before the Aragon test.” —Maverick Viñales, Rider

Confidence in the KTM and the Advantage of Racing at Home

Despite recent setbacks, Viñales remains positive about the capabilities of his KTM bike and sees MotorLand Aragon as a favorable circuit for continued improvement. The prospect of competing in front of his home crowd, along with the support of his team, adds extra motivation to deliver a strong result on Spanish soil.

“It will be important to work in the right way from Friday to try making it to Q2 and get a good starting position. Anyway, I enjoy MotorLand a lot, it will be nice to be racing at home in Spain, with family and friends, so let’s enjoy this weekend!” —Maverick Viñales, Rider
