Victoria Verstappen, sister of Formula 1 star Max Verstappen, has been focusing on motherhood this year, stepping back from the racing scene. On August 8, she shared photos of her three children enjoying a poolside day in Ibiza, offering a glimpse into her family life. Victoria posted images of herself and her daughter Hailey near Cala Gració, showcasing a relaxed summer moment.
In recent years, Victoria has embraced a lifestyle centered on raising her two sons, Luka and Lio, alongside her one-year-old daughter. While Max is in the middle of the 2025 F1 season summer break, Victoria prefers to remain discreet, balancing parenthood with her past in racing and fashion.
From Karting Talent to Family Life
Though Victoria once showed promise as a karting competitor, even winning a 100-mile endurance race at Belgium’s Genk International Karting Circuit, she never pursued a full-time career in motorsport. Instead, she shifted her focus from racing to fashion before dedicating herself to raising her family. Victoria has occasionally appeared in the Red Bull garage during Grand Prix events, yet she keeps a low profile compared to the intense public spotlight on her brother.
Similarly, Max’s partner, Kelly Piquet, has recently shared rare updates about their infant daughter Lily, born in May 2025. Kelly, like Victoria, maintains privacy over her personal life, sharing select moments with fans.

Max Verstappen Reflects on Victoria’s Racing Potential
Max Verstappen, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, has spoken openly about his sister’s early involvement in racing. Growing up in a competitive family environment shaped by their father Jos Verstappen, a former F1 driver, both siblings showed talent on the track. Victoria, born in 1999, was considered a strong racing prospect, influenced also by their mother Sophie Kumpen, a successful kart racer.
“I think she had a lot of potential,” Max said in 2023 (via Race Fans).
However, Max highlighted that the deciding factor was not skill but motivation.
“I think my sister probably had the same amount of talent as I had when I was little, but she just didn’t want it enough. She liked it but not enough to, like, fight for it, be fit, be ready,” he added.
Max reflected that although their father Jos focused intensely on his training, he would have offered the same level of support to Victoria if her passion had matched her brother’s.
Continuing Family Support Amid the Racing Season
While Max Verstappen prepares to return to racing at his home Grand Prix in Zandvoort following the summer break, the Verstappen family remains a close-knit presence. Victoria’s quieter path and dedication to her children contrast with Max’s high-intensity career, yet both siblings share a background rich in motorsport tradition. This contrast exemplifies the different ways the family balances personal life and professional ambitions in the high-stakes world of Formula 1.
