Max Verstappen, the Formula 1 world champion, showcased his luxury yacht at the Monaco Grand Prix, marking its debut at the prestigious event. The Red Bull driver took delivery of the 33-metre Mangusta GranSport 33 after ordering it two years ago, unveiling his latest personal asset at the heart of the motorsport season.
The yacht, named ‘Unleash the Lion’ by Verstappen himself, is reported to have cost over £10 million (€12 million, $12.33 million), according to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport. Earlier this year, Verstappen was accompanied by his partner, Kelly Piquet, to the Mangusta shipyard in the Italian port city of Viareggio to collect the vessel.
The Yacht Joins Verstappen’s Expanding Collection of Luxuries
This new addition complements Verstappen’s already impressive array of luxury possessions, which includes a Dassault Falcon 900EX private jet. The jet was purchased from Sir Richard Branson for about $15 million and features a distinctive livery, long-range flying capabilities, and space for up to 12 passengers.
Contrary to some reports, the jet does not have a racing simulator on board. Verstappen clarified the misunderstanding in 2023, explaining that while he is building a new motorhome equipped with a racing simulator for use during European Grand Prix travels, the plane itself does not contain one.
So I’m not installing one in my plane. I think that will be a bit absurd.

Verstappen’s Financial Standing Supports His Lifestyle Choices
Financially, Verstappen is well-positioned to afford such opulent items. Forbes reported that he is set to earn $78 million in 2025, reflecting his success on and off the race track. The arrival of his £10 million yacht at Monaco adds to the allure surrounding the champion beyond his racing achievements.
