Miguel Oliveira Shares Encouraging Update on Complex Injury Recovery Ahead of Spanish GP

Miguel Oliveira is absent from the MotoGP grid in Qatar this weekend, focusing on recovery from an injury incurred in Argentina. Despite the setback, he’s shared a promising update regarding his recuperation process.

The Prima Pramac Yamaha rider utilized his YouTube platform to describe his injury as more severe and complex than initially anticipated. Oliveira stated, “The recovery is going quite well. I must say I wasn’t expecting the injury to be as complex and serious as it turned out to be. At first, everything pointed to something quicker and more straightforward but, in fact, discovering later through the MRI scan the dislocation of the sternoclavicular joint and the resulting ligament tear was a cold shower.”

Initially, Oliveira faced a challenging recovery phase, remaining immobilized to aid tendon healing, a slower process than bone recovery. He emphasized the importance of restricting movement during this period.

As of now, Oliveira reports that recovery is progressing positively, allowing more mobility. He remarked, “Now, we are at a much more encouraging stage of the injury, where I already have more freedom of movement. I have been able to return to the gym and resume a bit of my routine. That gives me a lot more motivation and also makes time go by more quickly.”

While Oliveira plans to briefly join Pramac in Losail, he is yet to confirm his return to racing. However, his goal is to rejoin the grid for the Spanish GP in approximately two weeks.

The update not only provides hope to fans but also shifts the focus toward Oliveira’s potential return at the Spanish GP. As he continues recovery, the MotoGP community watches eagerly, hoping for his swift and smooth return to the sport.
