Miguel Oliveira to Race BMW M1000RR in 2026 WorldSBK

Miguel Oliveira will compete in the 2026 Superbike World Championship riding the BMW M1000RR, confirmed by the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team. This motorcycle, which leads the current WorldSBK standings with Toprak Razgatlioglu as the main title contender in 2025, is set to be Oliveira’s machine of choice as he aims to make an impact in the championship.

Performance and Engineering Features of the BMW M1000RR

The BMW M1000RR represents cutting-edge racing engineering, designed to maximize every millisecond on the track. Its inline four-cylinder engine with BMW ShiftCam technology produces a powerful 218 hp, six more than previous models, allowing it to reach a top speed of 314 km/h. Aerodynamic enhancements include new fairings and winglets that improve stability and generate additional downforce to assist riders during high-speed cornering.

The aerodynamic design significantly reduces drag and incorporates M Evolution 3.0 wings that add up to 23.1 kg of downforce, offering Miguel Oliveira increased control and confidence in critical bends and fast turns throughout the race.

Advanced Chassis and Electronic Systems Support Riding Precision

The M1000RR’s chassis features an aluminum twin-spar frame combined with an Öhlins upside-down fork and a Full Floater Pro rear shock. This setup delivers responsive feedback and precise handling under extreme conditions. Support systems such as Quickshifter Pro, adjustable traction control, ABS Pro, launch control, pit limiter, and various riding modes ensure that the bike’s powerful performance is balanced with optimal control and safety.

Improved braking is achieved through enhanced M brakes, equipped with air ducts that decrease caliper temperature by up to 10 degrees during races, enhancing reliability and stopping power. Engineering refinements, including optimized pistons, redesigned valve guides, and an improved airbox contribute to increased power without compromising durability.

Detailed Specifications Highlight Cutting-Edge Components and Technology

The BMW M1000RR is powered by a 999 cc inline four-cylinder, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled engine featuring four titanium valves per cylinder, titanium rods, and two-ring pistons. It generates over 233 hp at 14,000 rpm and uses a 6-speed gearbox with straight-cut gears and a secondary drive via the M Performance Regina chain. The bore and stroke measure 80 x 49.7 mm, supported by an electronic fuel injection system with variable intake length and running on Nordoel E-Fuel, which contains 40% non-fossil content.

Additional specifications include an Akrapovič exhaust system, a fuel tank with approximately 21 liters capacity, and a maximum fuel flow of 47 kg/h per 2025 regulations. The bike’s dry weight is 168 kg, with a variable wheelbase of 1,450 mm, and dimensions of 2,080 mm in length and 561 mm width (718 mm including wings).

Suspension is managed via an Öhlins RVP25/30 front fork and a BMW underslung swingarm combined with Full Floater Pro linkage and an Öhlins RVP50 rear shock absorber. The braking system includes twin Brembo 338 mm discs up front with 4-piston radial calipers and a single 218 mm Brembo disc with a 4-piston caliper at the rear. The wheels are PVM forged, measuring 17’’ x 3.5’’ front and 17’’ x 6.0’’ rear, equipped with Pirelli Super Corsa tires.

Miguel Oliveira’s Prospects with the BMW M1000RR in WorldSBK

With the BMW M1000RR, Miguel Oliveira will have access to one of the most refined and competitive Superbikes in the field. This machine’s proven track record and advanced technology equip Oliveira with the tools necessary to challenge the leaders and pursue top positions in the 2026 World Superbike Championship, continuing BMW’s presence at the front of the competition.
