MotoGP Rising Stars Bagnaia and Acosta: Guidotti Reveals Untold Secrets

Francesco Guidotti, former manager of KTM and Pramac MotoGP teams, has opened up about the development and challenges faced by two of MotoGP’s rising stars, Pecco Bagnaia and Pedro Acosta. Speaking in an exclusive interview, Guidotti detailed his experience working closely with both riders and provided a glimpse into what sets them apart in the fiercely competitive world of MotoGP.

Bagnaia’s Journey and Methodical Approach to Success

Guidotti emphasized his long-standing connection with Italian rider Pecco Bagnaia, who spent two crucial years on the Pramac team before joining Ducati’s official squad in 2021. Since then, Bagnaia has become Ducati’s lead rider, distinguishing himself especially as competition intensifies with the arrival of legendary racer Marc Márquez.

“Pecco has always been slightly superior, with immense potential and a methodical approach to his craft,”

Guidotti explained, highlighting Bagnaia’s disciplined lifestyle and training regimen. He contrasted Bagnaia’s structured preparation with that of Jack Miller, another rider known for his different and more relaxed style.

“Jack comes from the other side of the world and has a completely different way of doing things. He’s performed miracles to stay competitive in our category,”

Guidotti noted.

“Pecco, on the other hand, comes from a well-defined background, both culturally and personally. I always thought, ‘if this guy starts winning, he’s not going to stop.’ And he hasn’t.”

The Influence of Marc Márquez on the Competition

While praising Bagnaia’s rise, Guidotti acknowledged the pressure that comes from competing against an experienced force like Marc Márquez. He shared the importance of Márquez’s presence for Ducati’s overall performance.

“Marc is a tremendous asset for Ducati,”

Guidotti said, describing Márquez’s exceptional adaptability on the bike.

“He possesses a unique driving style that allows him to adjust better than any other rider. For Ducati, having Márquez in the mix has been a huge blessing.”

However, he also admitted the challenges Bagnaia faces in racing alongside the eight-time World Champion.

“Marc’s presence is making things a bit complicated for Pecco,”

Guidotti remarked, referencing the tough competition Bagnaia must navigate.

Challenges and Potential of Pedro Acosta at KTM

Turning to Pedro Acosta, the promising young talent from Mazarrón, Guidotti discussed how the rider has struggled amid KTM’s difficult season. Despite high expectations, Acosta’s transition to MotoGP has not been without its setbacks.

“He had a solid first year in MotoGP, but I think he lacked a bit of humility,”

Guidotti observed.

“He’s made some errors, and while he has earned podium finishes, he could have easily secured a second-place finish in races where he was leading. Those results would have bolstered his confidence.”

Guidotti also spoke candidly about KTM’s internal difficulties, which have affected Acosta’s ability to reach consistent top results.

“This winter, KTM didn’t seem able to work as effectively as others, and that has cost them,”

he said. Nevertheless, Guidotti remains hopeful about Acosta’s future prospects:

“I would still place my bets on this kid.”

Guidotti’s Role in Shaping Future MotoGP Legends

With his experience guiding both Bagnaia and Acosta, Francesco Guidotti continues to play a pivotal role in fostering their growth within MotoGP. As both riders face intense competition and personal challenges, Guidotti’s insights reveal the determination and potential that may see them rise to become future legends in the sport.

The rivalry between established champions like Márquez and emerging talents such as Bagnaia and Acosta adds new intensity to the championship, signaling an exciting era ahead for MotoGP fans worldwide.
