Herve Poncharal, the founder of the renowned Tech3 team, has shared the defining moments of his MotoGP team career highlights as he steps down after more than three decades at the pinnacle of grand prix racing. Tech3’s Rise and New Leadership
Poncharal launched the Tech3 team in 1990, guiding it to success across multiple classes, including 250cc, Moto2, and MotoGP. In the summer of last year, Poncharal announced the sale of Tech3 to a group led by Guenther Steiner, the former Haas Formula 1 team principal. The transition, valued at €20 million, became official at the start of 2026 with Steiner taking on the role of CEO.
