Pedro Acosta, the KTM MotoGP rider, openly expressed frustration over the team’s ongoing struggles and insisted he will not be patient with the current situation. Speaking after the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Acosta emphasized his demand for faster solutions from KTM, highlighting his unwillingness to wait indefinitely to become a champion.
The British Grand Prix weekend proved challenging for the KTM squad, with all its riders failing to progress beyond Q1 qualifying. Despite this, Acosta managed to secure sixth place in a chaotic race on Sunday, signaling his determination amid difficult circumstances.
Struggles with Bike Performance Highlighted at Silverstone
Acosta described the race weekend as “a race of hopelessness” due to persistent issues with rear grip on his KTM machine, which severely affected his competitiveness. He reflected on the bike’s strengths, such as acceleration and handling in corners, but lamented the deficiency in grip that cost him dearly during the race.
Well, not a strange race. It was a race of hopelessness,
he said.
He pointed out the frustration of pushing hard to maintain speed and position, only to lose ground in acceleration because the bike failed to offer the same amount of grip as rival machines.
But it is what it is and we have to keep going.

Acosta Rejects Patience, Urges Factory for Immediate Action
When asked whether he needed to accept the current situation and develop patience, Acosta was emphatic in his refusal, stating,
“I don’t accept and I’m not patient.”
The 19-year-old young talent stressed the limited window of opportunity in his career and the need for KTM’s factory support to close the performance gap.
He referred to previous champions like Freddie Spencer, who achieved rapid success but were quickly derailed by circumstances beyond their control, to underline the urgency of his demands.
Now I’m talking about the four riders – not only me.
Acosta highlighted that the entire KTM team faced difficulties qualifying for Q2, reflecting broader performance challenges rather than individual struggles.
Continuing Commitment Amid Possible Future Changes
Despite rumors linking Acosta to a potential departure from KTM at the end of the season, he reassured that he is under contract for another year and remains committed to the project. Yet, he made it clear that his focus is on competing effectively and not merely participating without results.
But this weekend I talked quite seriously that I need help,
Acosta stated.
He described a moment during the race when he was among leading riders including Marc Marquez, Franco Morbidelli, Jack Miller, and Alex Marquez but was ultimately unable to challenge them due to the bike’s limitations.
This is the thing that is burning my blood: to be so close and don’t catch it and not be able to do it, and it doesn’t matter what you do as it never arrives.
The Road Ahead for Pedro Acosta and KTM
Acosta’s candid remarks underscore a tense and uncertain period for KTM’s MotoGP team as they struggle to improve competitiveness. His insistence on immediate factory intervention signals pressure for quicker development and better results. The upcoming races will be critical for KTM to respond, as Acosta’s career ambitions and the team’s reputation depend on resolving these performance issues without delay.
