Pedro Acosta Faces Frustration: Front-End Bike Issues Plague GP of Americas Performance

Pedro Acosta, the Red Bull KTM rider, faced significant challenges at the GP of the Americas, as he retired from the main race while battling for a top-ten spot. The main issue plaguing his performance was persistent front-end bike problems, where the front of his bike continually locked up, adding to his frustration and hampering his ability to compete effectively.

Acosta shared his exasperation candidly, noting that it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact issue: “It is what it is. It’s difficult to say something. We need to understand why, we are not understanding anything. We race with the same bike as last year, we race with the same electronics as last year.”

Despite noticing some improvements from Saturday to Sunday, Acosta stressed that the front-end locking remained a major hurdle: “The bike was better than on Saturday, but we had massive front locks. And now it’s not about putting the rider behind or forward. It’s something bigger, because it’s not natural that after ten corners I start having massive locks. For this, we need to understand.”

Without a clear explanation for these difficulties, Acosta emphasized the urgency of resolving the issue: “In every dry session. We need to understand why. I don’t understand. Even in qualifying, it was more or less okay, but why is the front so sensitive? We don’t know, that’s the problem.”

The ongoing issue with Acosta’s bike not only influenced his performance at the GP of the Americas but could also affect his future races. The team is under pressure to find a solution, as the continued lack of understanding could impact Acosta’s standing in the overall championship and his confidence moving forward.
