Ross Chastain will return to Niece Motorsports for the 2026 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, making eight race appearances after NASCAR’s recent rules change allows Cup drivers with at least three years’ experience to run more events. This marks an expanded commitment for Chastain, a key fixture of the team, and signals heightened expectations for the Ross Chastain Niece Motorsports 2026 campaign.
Chastain’s Impactful History with Niece Motorsports
Ross Chastain, a veteran racer from Alva, Florida, has played a pivotal role at Niece Motorsports since joining in 2018. Over his career with the organization, he has earned five Truck Series victories, more than any other driver in the team’s history, and delivered Niece Motorsports its first triumph at Kansas Speedway in 2019. Renowned as both a skilled winner and reliable contender, Chastain has become synonymous with the team’s competitive spirit.
Strong Performances and Expanded Opportunities
During the 2025 season, Chastain participated in five NCTS races with Niece Motorsports, showcasing his consistent ability to compete at the front by finishing as high as second place at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He was routinely recognized as a threat for victories in all his starts, underscoring his value as both a driver and team leader.
The offseason brought significant changes when NASCAR announced that Cup Series drivers with three years or more of experience could compete in up to eight Truck Series events, rather than just five. Chastain intends to maximize this new opportunity and increase his presence in the series.

“It’s great to be back with Niece Motorsports in a larger capacity this year,”
said Ross Chastain, driver.
“When I heard about the rule change, I knew we had to run more races together. We’ve got a great core group of people here in Salisbury and I want to bring them all back to victory lane. I’m thankful to have the opportunity and appreciate the ownership group and our partners for making it happen, along with everyone at Trackhouse for allowing me to run in the Truck Series.”
Collaborations and Crew Alignments for 2026
For the upcoming season, Chastain will race the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado with Phil Gould as his crew chief, a familiar partnership that previously resulted in a runner-up points finish in 2019. He will share the driving responsibilities with rookie Landen Lewis and another yet-to-be-announced driver, aiming to blend experience with new talent.
“We’re thrilled to have Ross (Chastain) in our trucks for more races this year,”
said Cody Efaw, CEO of Niece Motorsports.
“Ross has been a huge part of our team since he first joined us, and his input is invaluable. Considering the young group of drivers we have in the fold this year, Ross will be a tremendous asset for those guys to learn from. We look forward to having him contend for wins each time he straps into the No. 45 truck this year.”
Looking Ahead to the New Season
The full schedule of Chastain’s appearances in the Truck Series, along with details about primary sponsors, will be revealed as the 2026 season approaches. The upcoming season begins with the traditional opener at Daytona International Speedway on Friday, February 13, with live coverage planned on FS1.
The return of Chastain to a larger racing role not only enhances Niece Motorsports’ lineup but also provides mentorship opportunities for younger drivers such as Landen Lewis. Fans and team members alike are optimistic about adding more wins to the team’s tally as Chastain eyes victory lanes across the country in 2026.
