Ryan Blaney’s Wife Opens Up About Pregnancy Hyperemesis Struggles and Twice-Weekly IV Treatments

Gianna Tulio, wife of NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney, recently revealed her ongoing struggles with pregnancy hyperemesis, sharing that she now requires twice-weekly IV treatments to manage the condition. The couple announced their pregnancy on July 1, 2025, marking a significant moment amid Gianna’s health challenges as she prepares to welcome their child.

Gianna Tulio Shares Her Pregnancy Challenges publicly

On Instagram, Gianna candidly discussed her experience with severe morning sickness caused by hyperemesis gravidarum. She described needing medicated intravenous therapy at the hospital two times each week to stay healthy and support the baby’s development. In her message to other mothers facing similar difficulties, Tulio expressed solidarity and encouragement during this difficult journey.

“To my Hyperemesis mamas, I see you. It’s a scary ride at times but you aren’t alone. I’m at the point where I have to come to the hospital transfusion center 2x a week for medicated IV’s but it’s all worth it having a healthy baby,” she wrote. —Gianna Tulio

The pregnancy announcement came with heartfelt photos of the couple and ultrasound pictures of their unborn child, affectionately nicknamed “Baby Blaney.” Since getting engaged after the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, Ryan and Gianna officially married on December 12, 2024, in a winter-themed ceremony held at Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado. The celebration was attended by several Cup drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Chase Elliott, and Bubba Wallace.

Addressing Misinformation Around Personal Life and Absences

Recently, Gianna addressed rumors circulating among the NASCAR community about her infrequent appearances at race events. During a podcast with Haley Dillon, she expressed frustration over speculation regarding her absence, which some misinterpreted as relationship issues rather than pregnancy-related health concerns.

“There’s a lot of speculation going around. Everyone either thinks I’m pregnant, or they’re like, ‘Gianna and Ryan are having issues. She’s not at the track.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m just pregnant.’ I’m just pregnant and sick, don’t worry,” she said via Instagram/Believe in the Good pod. —Gianna Tulio

“One of the guys that stands on the spotter’s stands we’re friends with, he’s like, ‘I swear, every race, all the spotters speculate if Gianna’s pregnant or not.’ And I just had to sit there and act like I don’t know what’s going on. I’m like, ‘Everyone’s so nosy,” she added. —Gianna Tulio
