NASCAR Star Ryan Preece Returns to Stafford Modified Masters with Eyes on Victory in Thrilling 80-Lap Race

On Wednesday, July 16, NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Preece will compete in the GAF Roofing Modified Masters 80-lap feature event, part of the Monaco Ford Modified Tri-Track Series at Stafford Motor Speedway. As Preece aims for the checkered flag, fans at Stafford and viewers online can expect a fiercely competitive race packed with skill and determination, showcasing why Ryan Preece Stafford Modified Masters is a key highlight of the season.

Preece’s Return to Modified Racing at Stafford Speedway

This event marks Ryan Preece’s first Stafford race since the 2023 SRX feature and his first modified car appearance at the venue since the 2022 NAPA Fall Final. With a remarkable 37 career feature victories at Stafford across several series—including 25 SK Modified®, nine NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour wins, two Open Modified wins, and one Modified Racing Series victory—Preece is eager to add to his impressive tally. However, he acknowledges the challenge that lies ahead.

For me, I always want to try to come to Stafford to race whenever I can,

said Preece.

When I was looking at the schedule for this year, there were a couple of mid-week opportunities that were available and with this race being Dover weekend and not a lot of distance to travel, it just made a lot of sense. Once I saw it, it was a definite to come race at Stafford with the Monaco Tri-Track Series. Thanks to RaceChoice.com, Flamingo Motorsports, and Sign Pro, without those guys I wouldn’t be able to come up and do this race.

To me it’s all about making sure my setup is good rather than getting acclimated to the modified,

Preece explained.

It’s just like riding a bike and it should be a good time. The plan is to win. I don’t show up to the track to not win, but it’s not easy and trying to make my car better and faster won’t be easy by any means.

Additional Racing Plans During Stafford Event Week

Ryan Preece’s Stafford appearances will extend beyond the GAF Roofing Modified Masters. On Friday, July 18, just two days later, Preece will race in the Cleetus McFarland New England 900, driving a nitrous-powered Crown Victoria. This event promises a different kind of excitement as Preece shifts from the intensity of modified racing to a more relaxed and entertaining atmosphere.

When I come race the modified, it’s supposed to be fun but at the same time I put a lot of effort into the modified program, so as much as it’s fun, it can feel like work sometimes with all the things I’m doing. When I come for the Cleetus race, that’ll be all good and fun and I’m sure I’ll have a good time with that and thanks to BuildSubmarines.com and RaceChoice.com for the support.
