Zane Smith Struggles at New Hampshire, Eyes Kansas Bounce Back

At the New Hampshire race, Zane Smith struggled with maintaining the right car balance, finishing 27th overall. Despite difficulties in Stage One and Stage Two, where he placed 21st and 18th respectively, Smith remains focused on improving his Zane Smith race performance as he sets his sights on the upcoming Kansas event.

Throughout the race, Smith noted that his vehicle’s balance was off, preventing him from competing with the leaders.

“We fought balance all day and never got it where we needed it to be to compete up front,”

Smith said.

“You’ll have days like that, and we just need to put it behind us and bounce back strong at Kansas.”

Other drivers experienced mixed results at New Hampshire. Noah Gragson managed to finish in 16th place, showing progress despite grip issues. Gragson commented,

“We fought right rear grip in practice and had some of the same challenges during the race, but our tire strategy and fast pit stops really helped us battle through. I’m proud of everyone for sticking with it and bringing home a 16th-place finish.”

Todd Gilliland had a solid day finishing 19th, improving from his starting positions.

“I think it was a pretty solid day for us given how Saturday’s qualifying session went,”

he said.

“We felt good about the car all race and chipped away at it as the day went on, making adjustments each stop to move up the ladder. Proud of this 34 team and a huge thank you to Grillo’s Pickles and Snoman for showing up to support.”

With the Playoff season advancing, Smith and his team understand the importance of regrouping quickly. The performance at New Hampshire serves as a learning experience, and they are optimistic about making necessary changes ahead of Kansas, hoping to deliver a stronger showing and climb back in the standings. The upcoming race will test their ability to adapt swiftly and improve their performance on track.
