Additionally, viewers in the United States will be able to watch the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix simultaneously on both Apple TV and Netflix on May 22, expanding the availability of F1 content in the U.S. at the start of the season.

The upcoming season of Drive to Survive premieres tonight at midnight, featuring eight episodes that dive into the intricate world of F1 racing. This series, collaboratively produced by Netflix and Formula One, provides audiences with an in-depth look behind the scenes, showcasing the strategies of team principals, the challenges faced by drivers, and the unfolding drama throughout the championship.

Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of services, spoke about the partnership, emphasizing the joint efforts with Netflix that have contributed to the sport’s growing popularity.

“We’re excited today to announce something I think that no one was expecting, and that is that we’ve teamed up with Netflix. And we’re going to make the entire season of F1: Drive to Survive, the new season, available to stream right within Apple TV itself. This is the new season eight, it drops tonight at midnight.
In addition to that, we’ve collaborated together so that the Canadian Grand Prix, which is on May 22nd, is also going to stream on Apple TV and Netflix in the US.
As you know, Netflix, I think, has played a pivotal role in growing F1 since the launch of Drive to Survive, and we’re thrilled to make F1 content more broadly available to new and existing US fans on both Netflix and Apple TV.”
