Assen Named Best MotoGP Grand Prix for 2025 Fans Celebrate

The Dutch TT at Assen has been recognized as the Best MotoGP Grand Prix of 2025, an award decided by the MotoGP paddock. This accolade reflects comprehensive evaluations made by teams and stakeholders, highlighting all aspects of each MotoGP event.

Assen claimed this prestigious title during its landmark 100th anniversary year, attracting 200,000 spectators over the end-of-June race weekend. Among them, a crowd of 109,499 gathered on race day to witness Marc Marquez secure a remarkable double victory, cementing the event’s memorable status.

Legacy and Excellence of the Assen Circuit

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group, expressed the deep connection fans have with Assen. He remarked,

“Assen has a special place in the hearts of many MotoGP fans and it is easy to understand why.”

Ezpeleta emphasized that the modernized circuit meets exceptionally high standards, delivering thrilling races supported by a rich history.

He added that Assen’s continuous growth in spectator numbers, combined with an expanding range of fan activities and entertainment, showcases the event’s strong appeal and evolving experience.

Team and Fan Focus Drives the Event’s Success

Arjan Bos, representing the Dutch GP organization, applauded the award as a significant recognition.

“Best Grand Prix is a hotly contested award, and we want to congratulate everyone at the TT Circuit Assen, and the whole Dutch GP team, for this achievement,”

he said. The official trophy presentation is scheduled for Sunday, 28 June 2026, during the next Dutch round.

Bos detailed the guiding principles behind the event’s success, stating,

“We’ve built the event around three pillars: putting the sport first by providing the best possible service to teams and riders; putting our fans first with the best experience we can offer, including hospitality; and adding entertainment that makes the weekend truly unique – from music, flypasts and fireworks to a spectacular opening ceremony and a podium where the bikes rise on a lift.”

He affirmed the commitment to continuous improvement:

“Combined with our century of racing history and the great names engraved on the trophy, this is exactly what we set out to build years ago – and we’ll keep raising the bar.”
