Brad Keselowski Currently Without NASCAR License Ahead of Daytona

Brad Keselowski, co-owner of RFK Racing and driver of the No. 6 car in the NASCAR Cup Series, is currently without a valid NASCAR license as he prepares for the upcoming Daytona events. After suffering a broken leg during a skiing accident in December, Keselowski has yet to complete the necessary tests to regain his license, putting his participation at risk just days before the Daytona 500 on February 15th.

Temporary Replacement and Rescheduled Race Events

In Keselowski’s absence, Corey LaJoie has been signed to drive the No. 6 car for the NASCAR Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. Originally scheduled earlier, the Clash was postponed to February 4th due to a snowstorm. Practice for the Daytona 500 is set to begin on February 11th at Daytona International Speedway, with Keselowski aiming to return for the main event.

Keselowski Addresses License Concerns Publicly

The question of Keselowski’s license arose prominently on social media, prompting the driver to clarify his situation directly. On X, he responded, “Short answer- NO,” when asked if he currently holds a NASCAR license.

“Long answer- I don’t currently have a valid NASCAR driver’s license. Scheduled to take the different tests end of the week. Must pass to drive the car at DAYTONA or anywhere else.”

He also remarked, “Big week ahead.”

Keselowski’s Racing Background and Stakes Ahead

At 41 years old, Keselowski has an accomplished career with 36 NASCAR Cup Series wins and a championship title earned in 2012. His ability to compete in upcoming races is closely tied to passing the essential licensing tests, adding tension and urgency for both the driver and RFK Racing as the Daytona 500 approaches.
