Brennan Poole Climbs to Top 10 at Circuit of the Americas

AUSTIN, TexasBrennan Poole achieved a remarkable climb from his 26th starting position to finish within the Top 10 at the Circuit of the Americas during the recent NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (NOAPS) race. Driving for Team Alpha Prime, the Texas native showed skill and perseverance to make significant gains over the 65-lap event.

Poole’s approach was steady rather than aggressive heroics, demonstrating consistency in a challenging field. This performance continues a promising season for the driver, who earlier nearly claimed victory at the season-opener held at Daytona International Speedway. Just prior to COTA, he had also improved substantially at Atlanta Motor Speedway, moving up from 33rd to finish 19th.

Building Momentum Early in the Season

Reflecting on his progress after the race, Poole shared his enthusiasm and focus on accumulating points early.

“Man, yeah. It’s been a pretty great start,”

he said.

“We know we got to stack points and stack them big right here at the start of the season, and really couldn’t have asked for a better start, other than maybe the last 25 seconds of Daytona. To go a little bit differently, that one is great, yeah? But, I mean, it’s been really good. The guys have worked really hard. I think we’re even better than we were last year, at least for these first three, so who’s got to keep being smart and keep doing it? Keep stacking points.”

Racing Close to Home Fuels Poole’s Drive

Although fans might assume Texas Motor Speedway is Poole’s home track, the Circuit of the Americas holds a special place for him as it is nearer to where he grew up and spent much of his life. Having friends and family nearby boosted the importance of achieving a strong result on this track.

Poole expressed the personal significance, stating,

“This is more my home track than Dallas is. It’s really close to where I grew up. And, yeah, I got a lot of friends, a lot of family here. Of course, my partner’s home base is in Dallas, right up the road from here. So, yeah, this is really cool, really cool to get a solid Top 10 with everybody here and a lot of friends and family.”

Team Alpha Prime’s Determination Overcomes Resource Limits

Unlike the more resourced teams such as Joe Gibbs Racing or JR Motorsports, Team Alpha Prime, owned by Tommy Joe Martins, operates on a tighter budget with fewer cars and engineers available. Their success reflects dedication and teamwork rather than overwhelming financial advantage.

Poole emphasized the value of his team’s effort:

“I think it’s just, you know, this works a lot like other pro sports and any other league or whatever. You know, you can be a great quarterback and be with a team that doesn’t really have all the pieces together and maybe not set the world on fire, right? And I think right now, I’m just surrounded by some really incredible people. I’ve got a great race team that gives me great handling cars. We don’t have everything that it takes to fight at the front of the field but we keep being smart, keep putting good handling race cars on the track, keep putting ourselves in position for it to go our way. If we can continue to have great days like this, I feel like I’m going to be here for another 10 years or so.”

Overcoming Past Obstacles and Looking Ahead

Several years ago, Poole faced a career setback connected to the fallout from the DC Solar Ponzi scheme, which led to a lawsuit involving Spire Sports + Entertainment and Chip Ganassi Racing. After reaching an out-of-court settlement, he has been steadily working his way back into competitive form.

While a championship remains a goal for the future, Poole is currently focused on the promising performances with Team Alpha Prime.

“Maybe I’ll get another shot and something great and go fight for a championship and race wins on a regular basis,”

he said as his team celebrated his recent achievement. – Brennan Poole, NASCAR driver

Significance of Poole’s Continued Climb

Brennan Poole’s Top 10 finish at Circuit of the Americas highlights his resilience and steady improvement after a challenging period. His results underline the strength of Team Alpha Prime’s hardworking crew despite limited resources, signaling potential for further success in the NOAPS season. Poole’s determination, combined with the team’s support, suggests he will remain a competitive presence as the series progresses, inspiring fans and colleagues alike.
