Carlos Sainz openly shared his disappointment after Williams opted out of the important shakedown at the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, due to unexpected delays with the FW48 car. Speaking to the media in Bahrain, Sainz admitted,
“Yeah, frustrating. Obviously, I’m not going to hide away from the fact that I would have loved to be in Barcelona to get those three days, get the head start.”
He highlighted the unforeseen challenges Williams faced during winter testing, saying,
“It was always going to be the plan, but unfortunately during the winter we faced some issues, some bumps in the road that we didn’t expect as a team.”

“I wouldn’t say the confidence is damaged.”

“We know there’s a massive margin of improvement in many, many areas.”
