Carson Hocevar Signs Long-Term Deal with Spire Motorsports

Carson Hocevar, a rising star in the NASCAR Cup Series, secured a long-term contract extension with Spire Motorsports on February 5, 2024. Since debuting as a rookie this year behind the wheel of the #77 car, the Michigan native has delivered an impressive performance with three top-five finishes and 15 top-10 results, earning his place as a key member of the Spire team.

The agreement not only guarantees Hocevar’s continued presence in the Cup Series but also includes participation in 13 CRAFTSMAN Truck Series events for Spire in 2026. This announcement follows closely after Hocevar’s recent run at the Cook Out Clash held at Bowman Gray Stadium, where he led for 18 laps and finished in 15th place.

Expressing Gratitude and Ambition: Hocevar Reflects on His New Deal

Hocevar shared his appreciation for Spire Motorsports and its leadership, calling the extension a “dream come true.” At 23 years old, he sees the contract as a reflection of the team’s strong commitment to excellence and growth. Hocevar also described team owner Jeff Dickerson as a “father figure” and emphasized the close-knit atmosphere among everyone involved with the team, which has evolved significantly since his debut.

Everyone in the building, has really become a family to me. Spire is such a different team now compared to how it was my rookie season, and especially when I made my debut in 2023. It’s fun to know I’m going to be around the Cup garage for a long time, and really a dream come true,

Hocevar said.

Following the news, Hocevar humorously recounted a moment from the contract talks where he requested the contract could state:

If I had a pulse, I would be driving a Spire race car.

He was also enthusiastic about the phrase “into the next decade” included in the deal.

I am here for a long long time in the sport I loved as a kid. Thank you, to everyone that has stuck by me,

Hocevar added.

Team Owner Jeff Dickerson Shares Personal Thoughts on Hocevar’s Commitment

Jeff Dickerson, co-owner of Spire Motorsports, expressed heartfelt praise for Hocevar and welcomed the extended partnership. Dickerson highlighted how the long-term agreement provides stability and foresight for the team, allowing them to build confidently around their young driver.

Recognizing Hocevar’s growth both on and off the track, Dickerson spoke about the personal connection they have developed over time and his excitement about what lies ahead.

It has been an absolutely rewarding experience getting to know Carson and watching him grow up, and learn from the good and bad both at and away from the racetrack. I love him like a son and it means a great deal to me, personally, knowing he’ll be here for several years,

Dickerson said.

Progress and Potential: Hocevar’s NASCAR Journey Continues

Entering his third full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series, Hocevar has steadily improved his results. In 2023, he earned a career-best second-place finish at Nashville Superspeedway, along with nine top-10 finishes throughout the year. His strong performance concluded the season ranked 23rd in the points standings, signaling promising potential for future success with Spire Motorsports.

This long-term commitment is expected to fuel both Hocevar and the team’s ambitions as they prepare for continued competition at the highest level of NASCAR racing into the coming decade.
