Chinese company CFMoto has confirmed it will continue its involvement in MotoGP by renewing its partnership with the Aspar team through the 2031 season. This extension ensures CFMoto’s ongoing presence across Moto2 and Moto3 classes with the Spanish squad led by former racer Jorge Martinez ‘Aspar’.
Long-Term Collaboration with Aspar Team Strengthened
The alliance between CFMoto and Aspar began in 2024, marking a strategic collaboration where CFMoto’s branding is featured on KTM-based bikes in Moto3, in addition to sponsorship on the team’s Moto2 motorcycles. The partnership rapidly delivered results: David Alonso secured the Moto3 world championship title in their inaugural year together, underscoring the effectiveness of their cooperation.
Since establishing this partnership, CFMoto-branded motorcycles have claimed 21 victories in Moto3 and Moto2 competitions, thanks to riders including David Alonso, Maximo Quiles, Dani Holgado, and Jake Dixon. Notably, Quiles, who is a protégé of Marc Marquez, earned best rookie honors in Moto3 during the previous season, while Holgado led the newcomers in Moto2.
Looking Ahead to Future Seasons and Development
By signing a five-year extension contract, CFMoto and Aspar are set to continue their collaboration through 2031, which will cover the introduction of new regulations such as the upcoming single-spec Moto3 class. Jorge Martinez expressed optimism about the partnership’s future:
“After these first two seasons with CFMOTO, we are looking forward to continuing working together on all the projects we have in common,”
Jorge Martinez said.
“We are very proud to have been able to give them their first world championship victory, their first title… last year, we managed to win races with three of our riders and secured both rookie titles, and in 2026, I am sure that many more good moments await us.”
“It is only the beginning of a great story together.”
CFMoto’s representative, Su Zhen, highlighted the strength of the relationship formed:
“After two years of working together, we have built a relationship in which we feel like a family. We have pushed in the same direction, both in the world championship and outside of competition, with different projects such as training young Chinese riders and developing new bikes.”
“This partnership has been a great success to date for CFMOTO and the Aspar Team: I’m eager to see what the future holds for us.”
Potential Expansion into MotoGP Class Noted
During the off-season, Jorge Martinez revealed that CFMoto is considering expanding its brand presence to include a MotoGP team moving forward. However, he clarified this development is not expected by 2027, indicating a longer-term vision for growth within the premier class.
With this renewed commitment, CFMoto continues to deepen its role in high-level motorcycle racing, building on a successful track record while supporting emerging talent and technological advancement in the sport.
