Chase Briscoe Claims Fifth Cup Pole of 2025 at Home Track Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Chase Briscoe, a native of Mitchell, Indiana, will start on the pole for the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday, July 27. Capturing the Cup Series pole position with a lap time of 49.136 seconds at 183.165 mph, Briscoe has now earned his fifth pole of the 2025 season, outpacing his combined two poles over his previous four full-time campaigns.

Qualifying Results Highlight a Toyota-Dominated Front

The top five qualifiers were dominated by Toyota drivers, with Bubba Wallace joining Briscoe on the front row. Erik Jones qualified third, followed by Tyler Reddick in fourth place, and Ty Gibbs completing the top five. Behind them, William Byron, Chris Buescher, Carson Hocevar, AJ Allmendinger, and Austin Cindric took positions six through ten.

Kyle Larson, the defending Brickyard 400 champion, will start from 13th, while Ty Dillon, Gibbs’ competitor in the In-Season Challenge final, faces a challenging start from 26th place. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin encountered trouble late in qualifying when he spun off turn two and made contact with the inside wall. As a result, Hamlin will begin the race in the last position, 39th.

Brickyard 400 Race Details and Coverage

The race will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, featuring a full starting field of 39 cars with no drivers missing the cut. Fans can watch the event on TNT Sports, while radio coverage will be provided by Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Channel 90.
