Chase Briscoe Bio
Chase David Wayne Briscoe (born December 15, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 19 Toyota Camry XSE for Joe Gibbs Racing. Briscoe is a two-time Southern 500 winner (2024, 2025) and the 2016 ARCA Racing Series champion. Off the track, he owns a World of Outlaws sprint car racing team, Chase Briscoe Racing.
Early Life and Background
Briscoe was born on December 15, 1994, in Mitchell, Indiana. He grew up in a family deeply tied to sprint car racing, with his father Kevin and his grandfather Richard both active in the sport. Kevin Briscoe, a former Truck Series driver and a five-time track champion at Tri-State Speedway and Bloomington Speedway, initially did not allow his son to race. He later relented, letting Chase race as a way of spending family time.
Five years after stepping away, Briscoe returned to racing at the age of thirteen and drove 410 sprint cars. That year, he recorded seventeen top-ten finishes and a win at the final race of the season, becoming the youngest driver to win a 410 sprint car race, breaking a record previously held by NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon by one year. Briscoe moved from Indiana to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2014 in hopes of building connections in the racing world.
Path to NASCAR
In 2013, Briscoe entered the Peak Stock Car Dream Challenge, a contest that awarded the winner a ride at Michael Waltrip Racing. Although he won most on-track races in the contest, he finished second behind Patrick Staropoli. Then-MWR executive Ty Norris later told Briscoe he should still pursue a racing career. That same year, Briscoe made his NASCAR K&N Pro Series West debut at NAPA Speedway, where he finished eighth.
In 2015, Briscoe was contacted by friend and driver Christopher Bell regarding a contract with Roush Fenway Racing, which led to a test session with ARCA Racing Series team Cunningham Motorsports. After two tests at Mobile International Speedway and Fairgrounds Speedway, he made his ARCA debut at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis and finished tenth. A personal friendship with team owner Briggs Cunningham III brought Briscoe a full-season ride for 2016, which he accepted.

Early Career (2015-2017)
In 2016, Briscoe won six ARCA races and captured the series championship by 535 points over runner-up Tom Hessert, earning the Bill France Four Crown. He followed that championship with a full-time move to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2017, joining Brad Keselowski Racing and driving the No. 29 Cooper Standard-sponsored Ford F-150.
Briscoe finished third in his Truck Series debut at Daytona and earned his first career Truck Series pole at Dover International Speedway. He later scored his first career Truck Series win at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and was named the 2017 Truck Series Most Popular Driver and Rookie of the Year.
NASCAR Xfinity Series Breakthrough (2018-2020)
Briscoe ran a part-time Xfinity Series schedule in 2018, splitting time between the No. 60 of Roush Fenway Racing and the No. 98 of Stewart-Haas Racing. He won the inaugural Xfinity race on the Charlotte Roval, holding off Justin Marks and Austin Cindric. He also returned to the Truck Series for one race in 2018, winning at Eldora Speedway in a photo finish over teammate Grant Enfinger.
Briscoe committed to a full-time Xfinity Series ride in the No. 98 at SHR in 2019, earned his second career Xfinity win at Iowa Speedway, and qualified for the playoffs on the strength of ten straight top-ten finishes. He finished fifth in points after a third-place run at Homestead.
In 2020, Briscoe delivered one of the most dominant Xfinity seasons in series history. He won nine races, including the rain-delayed Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Homestead, Pocono Raceway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s inaugural infield road course, Dover, Bristol, the fall Las Vegas race, and Kansas. His nine wins led all drivers in 2020 and stood as the most by a Ford driver in series history. Briscoe finished fourth in the final standings after spinning with two laps remaining at Phoenix.
NASCAR Cup Series (2021-Present)
On October 20, 2020, Stewart-Haas Racing announced Briscoe would be promoted to the Cup Series in 2021, replacing Clint Bowyer in the No. 14 Ford Mustang. He recorded his first top ten at Circuit of the Americas with a sixth-place finish and earned 2021 Cup Series Rookie of the Year honors, finishing 23rd in the final standings.

After a post-race inspection issue with the spoiler led to a points penalty, JGR successfully appealed, and Briscoe regained his points and kept crew chief James Small active. He also won the pole for the 2025 Coca-Cola 600, becoming the first driver since William Byron in 2019 to sweep the Daytona 500 and Coca-Cola 600 poles in the same season, and added back-to-back poles at Nashville and Michigan.
On June 22, Briscoe scored his first win with JGR at Pocono by holding off teammate Denny Hamlin, locking himself into the playoffs. During the playoffs, he won at Darlington in the Round of 16 to advance, and then won at Talladega in the Round of 8 to make the Championship 4.

Family Background and Racing Lineage
Briscoe comes from a sprint car racing family. His father Kevin Briscoe is a former Truck Series driver and five-time track champion at Tri-State Speedway and Bloomington Speedway. His grandfather Richard Briscoe has worked as a car owner for drivers including Rich Vogler and Dave Blaney.
Personal Life
Briscoe is married to his wife Marissa. The couple experienced a miscarriage in May 2020, and Marissa gave birth to their first son on October 2, 2021. On October 8, 2024, Marissa gave birth to the couple’s second and third children, boy-girl twins. Briscoe met fellow driver Christopher Bell through iRacing, and the two remain close friends.
