Chase Briscoe, a prominent NASCAR driver, was seen at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Thursday during the Spurs’ NBA regular season game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Briscoe’s visit was part of a promotional effort for the 2026 NASCAR season, specifically highlighting the Cup Series race scheduled at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) on Sunday, March 1.

During the second quarter, Briscoe appeared live on the FanDuel Sports Network broadcast, connecting with fans and viewers as part of the NASCAR campaign. His presence at a basketball game demonstrated NASCAR’s expanding reach into diverse sports audiences.

Briscoe’s Media Tour in San Antonio and the Importance of COTA

Prior to attending the Spurs game, Briscoe engaged with several media outlets across the San Antonio and Austin regions. The Circuit of The Americas, known for hosting prestigious Formula One and MotoGP events, will again host NASCAR in 2026, marking its sixth consecutive year on the NASCAR schedule. This event is one of five road course races planned for the upcoming season.

Briscoe has raced at COTA in every NASCAR event held there, with his best finish being sixth place at the inaugural race. His familiarity with the track adds credibility to his promotional appearances around the region.

Briscoe’s Upcoming Season with Joe Gibbs Racing

Looking ahead, Chase Briscoe is preparing for his second season driving the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). His rookie year in 2025 was impressive, securing three victories and reaching the Championship 4. Taking over from Hall of Famer Martin Truex Jr., Briscoe demonstrated a strong potential to claim a Cup title in his first year.

The 2026 NASCAR season will introduce a modified championship format, returning to the Chase playoff style. Briscoe attended the event where NASCAR announced the change and shared his perspective with The Athletic, emphasizing the importance of consistent performance throughout the season.

“I like the fact it’s not win-and-you’re-in because now it really takes the season as a whole,”

Briscoe said.

“You have to be good every single week, and that’s what [crew chief] James [Small] and I were talking about this morning. Now, DNFs are extremely significant, even in the regular season, because the playoff seeding for the Chase, you really need to be in the top five or six to put yourself in a really good position.”

So, it legitimately makes every race important all season long. And from a competitor standpoint, I like that.
