Dean Thompson and his No. 26 team are set to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ first road course event of the 2025 season on Saturday, March 1st, at Circuit of the Americas (COTA). This year’s race, the Focused Health 250, will take place on COTA’s shorter National Course layout, a change from the Grand Prix circuit previously used. Thompson enters the race following an encouraging performance at Atlanta where he narrowly missed his first top-10 finish of the season, placing 11th.
Thompson Brings Experience from NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
With three prior starts at COTA in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, Thompson has proven his capabilities on this track, including a top-10 finish in last year’s Truck Series race. His familiarity with the venue gives him an advantage as he steps into his debut NASCAR Xfinity Series road course race, aiming to build on his previous success and strong recent performances.
Reunion with Teammate Corey Heim for Road Course Debut
Also making his first Xfinity road course start, Corey Heim will drive the No. 24 car this weekend, reuniting with Thompson after their time as teammates at TRICON Garage. The two drivers, recognized for their competitive dynamic, will work together once again, bringing shared experience and teamwork to this challenging event at COTA.
“This weekend is a big opportunity, and we are giving it everything we’ve got,”
said Dean Thompson, expressing his focus as the race approaches.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with Corey and our teams to make the most of this challenging course.”
