As a child, Brown helped maintain the family race cars and began riding motorcycles at age six. He later took up motocross at age twelve, building his own practice course on the farm. He ran his first competitive drag race during his senior year of high school.
Brown attended Northern Burlington County Regional High School and continued his education at Mercer County Community College in New Jersey, where he competed in track and field as a sprinter and long jumper.
