Joshua Lee Williams, known professionally as Josh Williams, is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. Born on August 3, 1993, he competes full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, driving the No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro SS for DGM Racing in a partnership branded as DGM Racing x JIM. Standing 178 centimeters tall and weighing 87 kilograms, Williams also owns Josh Williams Motorsports, a team that fields cars for development drivers in the ARCA Menards Series, Late Model Stock Cars, Legend Cars, and Bandoleros.
Early Life and Background
Josh Williams was born in Port Charlotte, Florida, and grew up in the same region. As a teenager, he was injured in a head-on four-wheeler collision that was serious enough to put him in the ICU for five days. Following the accident, he continued to pursue his interest in motorsports and built his early résumé on Florida short tracks.
At the age of 15, Williams moved to the Charlotte, North Carolina, area, a hub of American stock car racing. He completed high school through online classes so that he could dedicate more time to racing. Today, he resides in Charlotte with his family, including his wife, Trazia Rae, and their daughter.
Path to NASCAR
Williams started his racing career in go-karts before moving into Fastrucks and Legend Cars. His talent caught the attention of veteran promoter Humpy Wheeler, and in 2009 he earned a spot in “Humpy’s Heroes,” a summer driver development program designed to help young drivers sharpen their skills.
By 2010, Williams was racing in the ARCA Racing Series with his family-owned team. Over the next few years he split time between his own team and established ARCA operations such as Andy Belmont Racing, Lira Motorsports, Roulo Brothers Racing, and Frank Kimmel’s team. In 2013, he finished fifth in ARCA points while piecing together a season with four different teams, including GMS Racing.
His 2015 ARCA campaign was his breakout year on a national stage. Driving the No. 6 for most of the schedule, Williams finished inside the top ten in nearly every race and ended the season third in the final standings, just behind Grant Enfinger and Austin Wayne Self.
ARCA Racing Series Breakthrough (2016–2018)
The 2016 season produced Williams’ first two career ARCA victories, both on short tracks. He won the Music City 200 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway and the Montgomery Ward Fathers Day 200 at Madison International Speedway, the latter coming after his crew worked through the night to prepare a backup engine. He closed the year fifth in points with eleven top-ten finishes.
In 2017, Williams made limited ARCA starts, including a partnership with Lira Motorsports and a fourth-place run at the Salem Speedway throwback weekend. In 2017, longtime friend Mario Gosselin helped him secure the No. 90 at King Autosport, where he ran a mix of partial and full-race efforts.

Following a 2024 stint with Kaulig Racing, Williams was released in July 2025. He then ran a partial schedule with Alpha Prime Racing before rejoining DGM Racing at Portland. On November 14, 2025, DGM confirmed that Williams would return to the No. 92 on a multi-year agreement, cementing his long-term role with the team.
