Sheldon Creed Bio
Sheldon Michael Creed (born September 30, 1997) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, driving the No. 00 Chevrolet Camaro SS for Haas Factory Team. A two-time Stadium Super Trucks champion, Creed also won the 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Championship in his second full season.
Born in Alpine, California, Creed built his reputation on dirt before moving to stock cars, capturing multiple championships in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS). He later added an ARCA Racing Series title in 2018 and continues to chase his first NASCAR Xfinity Series victory.
Early Life and Background
Sheldon Michael Creed was born on September 30, 1997, in Alpine, California, and raised in a family with deep motorsports roots. His father Scott supported him throughout his early career, while his grandfather Maurice Ortega ran a construction company that has sponsored Creed’s off-road and NASCAR trucks. His grandfather was also a late model racer at Cajon Speedway, which inspired Creed’s love for racing.
Creed began riding BMX bikes at the age of three, winning a state championship two years later. He moved on to motocross and won two Barona MX Park championships in 2005, a year in which he was also invited to KTM’s Jr Supercross Challenge. Concerned about injuries, his mother encouraged him to switch directions, and he began competing in Quarter Midget racing at the Orange Show Quarter Midget Racing Association by age eight, setting several track records along the way.
Path to NASCAR
At nine years old, Creed began racing Trophy Karts in Championship Off-Road Racing. From 2009 to 2011, he won a LOORRS kart championship every year, capturing the Junior 1 Kart and Modified Kart titles in 2009 and the Junior 2 Kart crown a year later. He progressed to the SuperLite class in 2011, then dominated the 2012 season with seven wins to claim the LOORRS SuperLite championship.
Creed won the 2014 LOORRS Pro Lite Unlimited championship at sixteen, becoming the youngest Pro Lite champion. He joined the Stadium Super Trucks series in 2013, where he became the youngest SST race winner at age fifteen and developed a mentorship with series founder and former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon. Gordon later helped Creed transition to stock cars, beginning with the ARCA Racing Series in 2016.

Early Career (2013-2018)
Creed quickly established himself as one of the most versatile young drivers in North America. He won back-to-back Stadium Super Trucks titles in 2015 and 2016, finishing the 2015 season with nine wins and thirteen podiums. He also earned a silver medal at X Games Austin in 2014, followed by a gold medal in 2015, becoming the youngest auto racer to medal at the X Games.
In 2016, Creed made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at the Eldora Dirt Derby. He began running the ARCA Racing Series that same year and scored his first stock car wins in 2017 across Trans-Am and ARCA competition. He earned his first Truck victory at Kentucky Speedway in July 2020, added wins on the Daytona road course and at Gateway, and clinched the 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Championship at Phoenix Raceway.
In 2021, Creed returned to the No. 2 GMS truck and reached the playoffs as the fifth seed. He won the opening two playoff races at Gateway and Darlington, but a late crash at Las Vegas and a four-point shortfall at Martinsville kept him out of the championship round. He moved to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2022, driving the No. 2 for Richard Childress Racing.
NASCAR Xfinity Series (2022-Present)
Creed debuted full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with Richard Childress Racing in 2022, recording four top-fives and thirteen top-tens in his rookie campaign. He moved to Joe Gibbs Racing in 2024, and during the 2024 season he posted sixteen top-fives, twenty-three top-tens, two poles, and finished sixth in points. As of the 2025 Food City 300, Creed holds the series record with fifteen runner-up finishes without a victory.
On August 17, 2024, Haas Factory Team announced Creed would drive the No. 00 Chevrolet Camaro SS full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series beginning in 2025. That same day, he finished second to Justin Allgaier at Michigan, breaking the all-time record for most second-place finishes in the Xfinity Series without a win.

Creed is married to Cami Parsons, the twin sister of NASCAR driver Stefan Parsons. They are the parents of a son named Axel, born on June 11, 2022. Outside of racing, Creed enjoys watching extreme sports and listening to country music such as Florida Georgia Line.
