Gigi Dall’Igna, Ducati’s technical director, previously described Aldeguer as the team’s future MotoGP prospect after the Marquez era. However, this latest injury introduces complications to that vision.
“I hope he will be recovered in time for the first race of the season at the end of February. However, nothing is certain yet. We have to wait and see how his leg recovers after the operation. Personally, I think it’s realistic, but the doctors have to decide if it’s possible,”
Davide Tardozzi told Speedweek.
Recovery Plans Prioritize Safety Over Rushed Returns
Aldeguer’s physiotherapist echoed a similar sentiment, emphasizing prudence. The primary goal is for the rider to be ready by the Thai Grand Prix in Buriram at the end of February.
“I don’t see any possibility for Sepang, but there’s a small chance for testing in Thailand. However, we certainly won’t push him to take a risk,”
Tardozzi added, underlining the care Ducati intends to take with Aldeguer’s rehabilitation.
