Enea Bastianini experienced a turbulent 2025 MotoGP season while riding the KTM RC16. Struggling initially with discomfort on the bike, he later found his rhythm, managing to challenge some of the top riders worldwide—a group he had joined only a year and a half prior. His standout moment came with a strong podium finish at the Catalan Grand Prix. However, the departure of his engineer, Alberto Giribuola, to Pramac Yamaha disrupted his momentum, causing Bastianini to fall back into the midfield as the season concluded.
Determined Ambitions for the Coming Year
Known as Bestia since his breakthrough with Ducati Gresini in 2022, Bastianini is regarded as an unpredictable yet outspoken competitor. Now racing for Tech3, he has openly shared his goals for the 2026 season.
“It was essential to look back on 2025, because it was a complicated year, I believe, but also a positive one, because I learned a lot. 2026 will be different, because I’ll know the bike and the team better. I think I’ll be much more competitive,”
he stated confidently.
Prepared to Compete at the Front
Bastianini is eager to fight for top positions once again without reservations, recalling the approach that allowed him to challenge riders like Fabio Quartararo and Pecco Bagnaia in 2022. He added,
“I am motivated to return to competition because I want to fight again for something important. This year, I think the factory team will be very strong. I sensed a lot of potential, especially during the Valencia tests last year. I think we’re ready to race, ready to fight.”
Facing Strong Competition Within KTM and Beyond
The 2026 season will be critical for Bastianini as it precedes a regulatory shift expected to favor riders with superior machinery. His competition within KTM includes Maverick Vinales, alongside factory riders Pedro Acosta and Brad Binder, both determined to prove their capabilities in various aspects of the sport. Battling these rivals will test Bastianini’s skill and resolve as he aims to secure better results.
Looking Ahead to What 2026 Holds
With experience gained from the past season’s difficulties and renewed confidence in his team and bike, Enea Bastianini is positioned to make a significant impact in the 2026 season. His readiness to challenge leading riders could reshape the competitive landscape, making the upcoming season one to watch closely for fans and analysts alike.
