Fermín Aldeguer Claims First MotoGP Win in Epic Indonesia Race

Mandalika, Indonesia – In a dramatic showdown at the Indonesian Grand Prix, Fermín Aldeguer achieved his first MotoGP victory, showcasing exceptional skill to lead Gresini Ducati to a memorable one-two finish alongside Álex Márquez. This race marked a significant milestone for Aldeguer MotoGP victory as the young Spaniard rose above a chaotic field.

A Turbulent Start with Bezzecchi and Márquez Clashing

The race began with immediate tension when pole-sitter Marco Bezzecchi quickly lost ground. In the early corners, Bezzecchi collided with Álex Márquez’s Ducati, causing a severe crash that ended both riders’ outings and brought Márquez’s season into question due to a collarbone injury. Meanwhile, Aldeguer, Pedro Acosta, and Luca Marini pulled ahead, soon joined by Raúl Fernández in a four-way battle for supremacy.

Aldeguer Pulls Ahead Confidently

While competitors scrambled behind him, Fermín Aldeguer steadily increased his lead. The Gresini rookie opened gaps of three, five, and nearly seven seconds as others failed to match his pace. With ten laps left, Aldeguer appeared unstoppable, maintaining a commanding position, while Acosta held firm in second as Álex Márquez and Alex Rins contested the podium places.

Late-Race Shifts: Márquez and Rins Fight for Podium Spots

With five laps remaining, Alex Rins briefly advanced to second place, only to be overtaken by Márquez, who pushed hard to help secure Gresini Ducati’s season-first one-two finish. In the final laps, Acosta reclaimed second place by passing Márquez, while Rins lost traction and ultimately slipped to eighth.

Aldeguer’s Breakthrough Moment

At just 20 years old, Fermín Aldeguer’s victory establishes him as MotoGP’s newest race winner and highlights Gresini’s emergence as a leading independent team this season. Reflecting on his achievement, Aldeguer said,

“It’s a dream come true. We’ve worked so hard for this moment — and to win here, with a Gresini one-two, is incredible.” – Fermín Aldeguer, MotoGP rider

For Ducati, the day delivered mixed emotions: celebration for Aldeguer and Márquez’s success, contrasted with disappointment over Bezzecchi’s crash and Márquez’s injury.
