“The reason why we started to discuss the number of sprints and maybe some different format is because of the feedback we received from the fans, the promoters, that people want to see real action during the three days.”

Domenicali indicated that more short-notice events in Europe could help fill the schedule, especially with the Portuguese Grand Prix‘s anticipated return. He commented on the selection process, acknowledging the importance of established markets:

“Yes, I think so, in terms of what you said about the big countries.”

Still, he emphasized patience, noting that launching new races demands careful preparation to succeed.

The Turkish Grand Prix is a topic of ongoing speculation, with Istanbul Park organizers expressing confidence that a deal to reinstate the race is close. Though nothing has been finalized, Domenicali confirmed that recent calendar choices aim to address concerns about Formula 1’s heavy reliance on street circuits:

“Turkey is not 100% confirmed. Stay tuned on Turkey, let me put it this way,”
