Frankie Muniz Unveils First NASCAR Throwback Paint Scheme

Frankie Muniz, known for his acting career and now a NASCAR driver, along with Team Reaume, announced the design for his inaugural NASCAR Throwback paint scheme ahead of his upcoming race at Darlington. The team’s selection pays homage to Bill Davis Racing and driver Dave Blaney’s 2000 Amoco No. 93 car, reflecting both racing history and a tribute to team owner Bill Davis, who passed away last fall.

Fan Engagement Influenced Design Choice

The final paint scheme was chosen following a public poll on X, where fans selected from four potential throwback designs. The Dave Blaney paint scheme emerged as the clear favorite, receiving strong support from racing commentator Mike Joy of FOX Sports as well as racing enthusiasts. Other contenders in the poll included historic designs honoring Lennie Pond, Jeff Gordon, and Robert Pressley, but the Blaney tribute resonated most with voters.

Throwback Traditions Amid Changes at Darlington

Although NASCAR will not officially sponsor a throwback weekend this year at Darlington due to mixed fan reactions in recent seasons, some teams such as Team Reaume’s No. 33 and Alpha Prime Racing’s No. 44 have confirmed plans to carry on the tradition independently. This move upholds the nostalgic spirit despite the changes in the official event calendar.

Muniz’s Return to Darlington on the Truck Series Circuit

This Darlington race will mark Frankie Muniz’s first start at this track in the Truck Series, following his absence due to an injury sustained last fall, which sidelined him for four races. Now 40 years old, Muniz is determined to make a strong comeback, with the throwback scheme adding emotional significance to his return and the race itself.

Continuing the Conversation with Racing Fans

Team Reaume invites fans to share their thoughts on the new paint scheme and the upcoming race through social platforms like Discord and X, as well as follow updates on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. This engagement reflects the team’s commitment to their supporters and the wider NASCAR community.
